Colostethus mystax Duellman and Simmons, 1988, Proc. Acad. Nat. Sci. Philadelphia, 140: 117. Holotype: KU 147095, by original designation. Type locality: "headwaters of the Río Piuntza, 1830 m (approx. 3 30′ S, 78 20′ W), western slope of the Cordillera del Cóndor, Provincia Morono-Santiago, Ecuador".

Distribution

Known only from the type locality in montane cloud forests of the Cordillera del Condor (Morono-Santiago, Ecuador).
