Colostethus toachi Coloma, 1995, Misc. Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 87: 52. Holotype: QCAZ 1437, by original designation. Type locality: "Finca Gloria, 15 km NW Alluriquín (5 km NW of La Florida), 0° 15′ S, 79° 01′ W, 950 m, Provincia Pichincha, Ecuador".

Distribution

Elevations of 61 to 1410 m elevation in the Pacific lowlands and foothills in Esmeraldas, Carchi, Imbabura, and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, northwestern Ecuador.

Vol. 2: 153–155, provided an account, with photographs, which summarized identification, adult and larval morphology, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map), conservation, and (on pp. 560–561) the advertisement call.
