Hyloxalus yasuni Páez-Vacas, Coloma, and Santos, 2010, Zootaxa, 2711: 47. Holotype: QCAZ 32465, by original designation. Type locality: " Ecuador: Provincia Orellana: PUCE’s (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador) Yasuní Research Station (01° 40′ 16.7″ S, 76° 24′ 01.8″ W), 300 m above sea level ".

Distribution
Elevations between 200 and 1119 m elevation in the Amazonian lowlands and adjacent foothills in Orellana, Napo, Pastaza, and Sucumbíos provinces, Ecuador.
Geographic Occurrence

Comment
In the Hyloxalus bocagei complex and very similar to Hyloxalus italoi according to the original publication. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 2: 158–161, provided an account, with photographs, which summarized identification, adult and larval morphology, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map), conservation, and (on p. 562) the advertisement call.
