Distribution
Throughout the western coastal plains of peninsular India from at least Thattekad (Kerala) north to Mangalore (Karnataka) and nearby oceanic islands of Anjediva. Devagadgudda, and Kurmagadh.

Comment
The sister taxon of Euphlyctis ehrenbergi according to the original publication, where comparative morphology, and molecular markers were detailed. Dufresnes, Mahony, Prasad, Kamei, Masroor, Khan, Al-Johany, Gautam, Gupta, Borkin, Melnikov, Rosanov, Skorinov, Borzée, Jablonski, and Litvinchuk, 2022, Syst. Biodiversity, 20 (2102686): 1–25, discussed the systematics of this species and its phylogenetic place within the genus, placing it as the sister taxon of Euphlyctis adolfi. Hegde and Kadadevaru, 2022, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 122: 425–431, reported the species from Anjediva, Devagadgudda, and Kurmagadh Is., off the coast of Karnataka, India.
