Paratelmatobius cardosoi Pombal and Haddad, 1999, Copeia, 1999: 1015. Holotype: MNRJ 18795, by original designation. Type locality: "in the pathway to Pedra Lisa waterfall, Paranapiacaba (approximately 23° 45′ W; 46° 22′ S), Município de Santo André, Estado de São Paulo, Brazil".

Comment

The original publication included a description of the advertisement call and larval anatomy. Santos, Magalhães, Lyra, Zaher, Giasson, Garcia, Carnaval, and Haddad, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 148 (106819): 1–18, noted three cryptic species in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Santos, Vilela, Carvalho, Silva, Rodrigues, Garcia, Carvalho, and Haddad, 2025, Herpetologica, 81: 264–278, reported on the advertisement call.
