Comment

Pyron and Wiens, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 543–583, erected Paratelmatobiinae for Paratelmatobius and Scythrophrys (a taxon that they suggested is the sister taxon of Leiuperinae) but failed to meet the requirement of the Code for characters that purport to differentiate the taxon. Ohler and Dubois, 2012, Alytes, 28: 165, corrected the error. Fouquet, Blotto, Maronna, Verdade, Juncá, de Sá, and Rodrigues, 2013, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 67: 445–457, redelimited the group on the basis of molecular data. Santos, Magalhães, Lyra, Zaher, Giasson, Garcia, Carnaval, and Haddad, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 148 (106819): 1–18, reported on molecular phylogenetics of the group, finding the genera robustly supported as monophyletic, and discussed unnamed species and divergence times.
