Type locality: "Cidade Azul (approximately 22° 51′ S; 45° 44′ W), Município de Campos do Jordão, Estado de São Paulo, Brazil"; corrected to the municipality of Sapucaí-Mirim, state of Minas Gerais, where part of Cidade Azul was located (22°51’42.69”S, 45°52’18.31”O, WGS-84, . . .)", Brazil.

Distribution
Known from the type locality (municipality of Sapucaí-Mirim, state of Minas Gerais) and sub-district São Francisco Xavier, municipality of São José dos Campos, in the state of São Paulo, and and 130 km to the east at 1650 m in the Área de Preservação Ambiental da Mantiqueira, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, all in the Serra de Mantiqueira.

Comment
Vrcibradic, Ariani, Van Sluys, and Rocha, 2010, Check List, 6: 1-2, reported the Rio de Janiero record and discussed the range. Rotenberg, Muscat, Stuginski, Toledo, and Moroti, 2020, Zootaxa, 4845: 447–450, discussed and corrected the location of the type locality, provided a new locality, and discussed the range. Moroti, Severgnini, Bolovon, Toledo, and Muscat, 2022, J. Nat. Hist., London, 56: 1563–1584, reported on natural history, advertisement calls, and tadpole morphology.
