Leishan Horned Toad (original publication). 

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Leigong Mountain, Leishan County, Guizhou Province, China) in high montane forest, usually near streams at elevations of 1200 to 1750 m.

 Lyu, Qi, Wang, Zhang, Zhao, Zeng, Wan, Yang, Mo, and Wang, 2023, Zool. Res., Kunming, 44: 432–433, provided an account and placed the species in their Borneophrys boettgeri group. Shen, Liu, Tang, Peng, Li, Feng, Mu, and Su, 2024, Ecol. Evol., 14(e11318): 1–12, described and compared the advertisement calls of Boulenophrys spinata and Boulenophrys leishanensis
