Comment
Comparative adult morphology and molecular markers detailed in the original publication, where this species was suggested to be the sister taxon of Brachytarsophrys orientalis + Brachytarsophrys popei. Wu, Shen, and Fu, 2026, Zootaxa, 5785: 195–200, reported on the advertisement call.
