Comment
See identification table (as Calluella) by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 46, to compare the species of the Sunda Shelf region. Calluella was xcluded from Dyscophinae and placed in Calluellinae by by Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2005, in Fei et al. (eds.), Illust. Key Chinese Amph.: 278. Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297: 230, placed Calluella in Microhylinae on the basis of phylogenetic position. See Taylor, 1962, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 43: 575–578 (for Glyphoglossus molossus). Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297: 225, removed Glyphoglossus (in the sense of not including Calluella) from any subfamily pending resolution of its phylogenetic placement. Transferred to Microhylinae by Van Bocxlaer, Roelants, Biju, Nagaraju, and Bossuyt, 2006, PLoS One, 1: 1–6. Matsui, Hamidy, Belabut, Ahmad, Panha, Sudin, Khonsue, Oh, Yong, Jiang, and Nishikawa, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 167–176, suggested the possibility that this taxon may be imbedded within Calluella on the basis of mtDNA phylogenetic analysis. Pyron and Wiens, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 543–583, in their molecular study, suggested Glyphoglossus to be the sister taxon of Calluella. Das, Min, Hsu, Hertwig, and Haas, 2014, Zootaxa, 3785: 559–560, confirmed the placement of Glyphoglossus within Calluella. Gorin, Solovyeva, Hasan, Okamiya, Karunarathna, Pawangkhanant, de Silva, Juthong, Milto, Nguyen, Suwannapoom, Haas, Bickford, Das, and Poyarkov, 2020, PeerJ, 8 (e9411): 1–47, placed this taxon as the sister of Microhyla.
