Nyctibatrachus danieli Biju, Van Bocxlaer, Mahony, Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Zachariah, Giri, and Bossuyt, 2011, Zootaxa, 3029: 22. Holotype: ZSI/WGRC/V/A/778, by original designation. Type locality: "Humbarli village, Koyna, Satara district, Maharashtra state", India.

Distribution

Known only from Humbarli village and Amboli in Maharashtra, India.

Comment

In the "northern clade", Nyctibatrachus humayani group, of Van Bocxlaer, Biju, Willaert, Giri, Shouche, and Bossuyt, 2012, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 62: 839-847. These authors also noted an unnamed but closely related species from Sakleshpur, Karnataka, India. A very brief characterization, photograph, and dot map provided by Subramanian, Dinesh, and Radhakrishnan, 2013, Atlas of Endemic Amph. W. Ghats: 81. Sreekumar and Dinesh, 2020, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 120: 33–40, discussed the range in Maharashtra, India, in terms of agro-climatic zones.
