Distribution
Southern portion of the Serra da Mantiqueira and adjacent areas that share species with the mountain range, such as Jundiaí and Atibaia, São Paulo and Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Comment
A tetraploid species formerly confused with Odontophrynus americanus diagnosed in the original publication on the basis of 16s mtDNA, larval and adult morphology, osteology, and advertisement call.
