Comment

In the Drymomantis subclade of the Litoria-Rawlinsonia clade as delimited by Donnellan, Mahony, Esquerré, Brennan, Price, Lemmon, Lemmon, Günther, Monis, Bertozzi, Keogh, Shea, and Richards, 2025, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 204(2: zlaf015): 1–80. Includes species formerly assigned to the Litoria bicolor and Litoria nigropunctata groups of Tyler and Davies, 1978, Aust. J. Zool., Suppl. Ser., 27 (63): 1–47. Donnellan, Mahony, Esquerré, Brennan, Price, Lemmon, Lemmon, Günther, Monis, Bertozzi, Keogh, Shea, and Richards, 2025, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 204(2: zlaf015): 51, also suggested that placement of Kallistobatrachus chloronotus into Kallistobatrachus renders the genus paraphyletic with respect to Teretistes. DRF is not clear on why this was done inasmuch as Kallistobatrachus chloronotus lacking the morphological synapomorphy of Teretistes (a snout spike) does not negate the phylogenetic position this species as the sister of Teretistes
