Comment
Not addressed by Yang, 1991, Fieldiana, Zool., N.S., 63: 1–42. See account by Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 423–425, as Rhacophorus buergeri chapaensis, and by Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 51 (as Amolops chapaensis). Yang, 1991, Amph. Fauna of Yunnan: 178–180, and Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 240–241, provideds brief accounts figure, and map (as Amolops macrorhynchus). Nguyen, Ho, and Nguyen, 2005, Checklist Amph. Rept. Vietnam: 18, provided specific localities in Vietnam, including what is now Odorrana geminata. Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297: 253, and Ngo, Murphy, Liu, Lathrop, and Orlov, 2006, Amphibia-Reptilia, 27: 81–92, noted that this species does not fall phylogenetically within Amolops. Yang, 2008, in Yang and Rao (ed.), Amph. Rept. Yunnan: 96–98, provided a brief account (as Amolops macrorhynchus) for Yunnan, China. See statement of geographic range, habitat, and conservation status (as Amolops chapaensis) in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 628. See comment under Odorrana geminata. Bain, Stuart, Nguyen, Che, and Rao, 2009, Copeia, 2009: 348–362, provided a translation of the original description and supplemented this diagnosis with new data. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 3: 1555–1558, provided an account (as Amolops chapaensis), figures, and range map, and included the species in their Amolops chapaensis group.
