Rana utsunomiyaorum Matsui, 1994, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 111: 397. Holotype: KUHE 9083, by original designations. Type locality: "the headwater of Nakura-gawa River on Mt. Omoto-dake (124°11′E, 24°25′N, alt. 250 m) in Ishigaki-shi, Okinawa Prefecture (Ishigakijima, Yaeyama Group of the Ryukyu Archipelago), Japan".
