Comment
See account (as Polypedates oxycephalus) by Pope, 1931, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 61: 576–581. Considered a member of Buergeria by Jiang, Hu, and Zhao, 1987, Acta Herpetol. Sinica, Chengdu, N.S.,, 6 (1): 34, Zhao and Adler, 1993, Herpetol. China: 152; and Ye, Fei, and Hu, 1993, Rare and Economic Amph. China: 316, who provided an account. Placed in Rhacophorus (Leptomantis) by Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 76, but this has not been followed by authors; see comment under Rhacophorus regarding the status of Leptomantis. Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 250–251, provided a brief account, a map, and figure. Yang and Zhao, 2005, Sichuan J. Zool., 24: 309–311, provided two specific localities and habitat. See illustration, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status (as Buergeria oxycephalus) in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 516. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 660–664, provided an account and spot map. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 423, provided a brief account including photographs of specimens and habitat. Shi, 2011, Amph. Rept. Fauna Hainan: 72–75, provided an account. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 496, provided an account, photographs, and a range map for China.
