Type locality: "rochers humides des torrents de Moupin" = Mouping [=Baoxing County], Sichuan Province, China.

According to museum records, renumbered and renumbered MNHNP 0.5563-64 ("Chine", also a syntype of Polypedates dugritei), 1994.2361-63 ("Chine", also a syntype of Polypedates dugritei), and 1994.2640-42 ("Chine", also a syntype of Polypedates dugritei). Type locality: "les montagnes boisées et humides du Moupin, au-dessus de 1000 mètres d'altitude", Baoxing County, Sichuan Province, China. Synonymy by Liu, 1950, Fieldiana, Zool. Mem., 2: 370. An objective synonym of Polypedates dugritei through the shared syntypes.

Altitude 10,500 feet". Synonymy by Liu and Hu, 1961, Tailless Amph. China: 265, and Pope and Boring, 1940, Peking Nat. Hist. Bull., 15: 70. Junior primary homonym of Hyla punctariola monticola Cope, 1876 "1875".

Hyla bambusicola Barbour, 1920, Copeia, 87: 98. Replacement name for Hyla monticola Barbour, 1912.

Rhacophorus pleurostictus batangensis Vogt, 1924, Zool. Anz., 60: 341. Syntypes: ZMB (19 specimens) with ZMB 54918 not ZFMK 95256, according to Böhme, 2014, Mertensiella, 21: 120. Type locality: "Batang [County], Osttibet [actually Sichuan] nahe Takiang, Oberlauf des Jangtze", China. Synonymy by Liu, 1950, Fieldiana, Zool. Mem., 2: 373, and Liu and Hu, 1961, Tailless Amph. China: 265.

Distribution

Isolated populations in southwestern China (southwestern Hubei, central Sichuan, western Sichuan near the Tibet border, and southwestern Yunnan) to the Laos and Myanmar borders (within neither this species has been recorded, although it likely occurs there), and adjacent northern Vietnam (Lao Cai province).

In the Rhacophorus (Rhacophorus) dugritei group of Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 77; see comment under Rhacophorus for dissenting opinion regarding the recognition of this group. Herpetol., 8: 20-25, provided an account for the Vietnam population and noted that Polypedates puerensis and Polypedates zhaojuensis were possibly conspecific (see comment under Rhacophorus hui).
