Comment
In the Rhacophorus (Rhacophorus) dugritei group of Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 77; see comment under Rhacophorus for dissenting opinion regarding the recognition of this group. See accounts by Liu, 1950, Fieldiana, Zool. Mem., 2: 370-373; Yang, 1991, Amph. Fauna of Yunnan: 201-203; and Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 286-287. Orlov, Lathrop, Murphy, and Ho, 2001, Russ. J. Herpetol., 8: 20-25, provided an account for the Vietnam population and noted that Polypedates puerensis and Polypedates zhaojuensis were possibly conspecific (see comment under Rhacophorus hui). Fei and Ye, 2001, Color Handbook Amph. Sichuan: 216-217, provided a brief account and illustration (as Rhacophorus dugritei). See also brief account by Zhao and Yang, 1997, Amph. Rept. Hengduan Mountains Region: 122-123. Bain and Nguyen, 2004, Am. Mus. Novit., 3453: 27-32, provided the record for Ha Giang Province, Vietnam, and noted the likelihood that this is actually a complex of species. Orlov, Nguyen, and Ho, 2008, Russ. J. Herpetol., 15: 67-84, provided a photograph and a key to differentiate this species from others in Vietnam. Yang, 2008, in Yang and Rao (ed.), Amph. Rept. Yunnan: 107-108, provided a brief account for Yunnan, China. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 843-850, provided an account, spot map, and considered this species a member of their Rhacophorus dugritei group. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 456-457, provided a brief account for China including photographs of specimens and habitat. In the Rhacophorus dugritei group of Li, Liu, Chen, Wu, Murphy, Zhao, Wang, and Zhang, 2012, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 165: 143-162. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 539-540, provided an account, photographs, and a range map.
