Holotype: KUHE 35925, by original designation. Type locality: "Haizuka, Mirasaka-cho, Miyoshi-shi, Hiroshima Prefecture (34°46'01"N, 132°58'45"E, alt. 223 m)", Japan. 

English Names

Aki Salamander (original publication). 


Western Honshu (Chugoku Region, Hiroshima Prefecture) and extreme northwestern Shikoku (Ehime Prefecture), Japan. 


Prior to its naming confused with Hynobius nebulosus according to the original publication.
