Distribution

Endemic to Oita Prefecture and found in Oita (only including the former Oita City and Saganoseki Town) and Usuki (only including the former Usuki City) Cities, Kyushu, Japan.

Comment

Confused previously with Hynobius dunni, but distinguished by molecular and morphological markers in the original publication.
