Hynobius utsunomiyaorum Matsui and Okawa in Matsui, Okawa, Nishikawa, Aoki, Eto, Yoshikawa, Tanabe, Misawa, and Tominaga, 2019, Curr. Herpetol., Kyoto, 38: 75. Holotype: KUHE 6491, by original designation. Type locality: "Rokunohara, Mt. Hibayama, Saijo-cho, Shobara-shi, Hiroshima Prefecture (35°04'20"N, 133°04'18"E, alt. 850 m)", Japan. 

English Names

Highland Salamander (original publication). 


 Known from montane areas on the backbone range of the Chugoku Mountains, western Honshu (Hyogo, Okayama, Hiroshima, Tottori, and Shimane prefectures), Japan, 35 to 1216 m elevation. 


Prior to its naming confused with Hynobius nebulosus according to the original publication.
