Comment

Patton, Apodaca, Corser, Wilson, Williams, Cameron, and Wake, 2019, Copeia, 2019: 748–763, reported on four genetic lineages within the Aneides aeneus complex, but only named one, Aneides caryaensis, leaving the other three to be covered by nominal Aneides aeneus, presumably to be named in future papers, much as was done with the Aneides flavipunctatus complex. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 968–969, provided an account summarizing morphology, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map).
