Distribution

On the north-central and northwest sides of Shasta Lake, possibly extending another 20 km to the west, Shasta County, California, USA.

Formerly considered part of Hydromantes shastae.  Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 1038–1039, provided an account summarizing systematics, morphology, and distribution (including a polygon map).
