Serra do Mar in the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Comment

 Lourenço, Garcia, and Recco-Pimentel, 2003, Ital. J. Zool., 70: 183–190, reported on karyotypic variation and similarity of one of these cytotypes to that found in Paratelmatobius poecilogaster.  Santos, Magalhães, Lyra, Zaher, Giasson, Garcia, Carnaval, and Haddad, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 148 (106819): 1–18, noted two cryptic species in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Moser and Lingnau, 2021, Salamandra, 57: 167–170, reported on vocalization.
