Nymphargus caucanus Rada, Ospina-Sarria, and Guayasamin, 2017, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 12: 147. Holotype: ICN 33238, by original designation. Type locality: "Hacienda El Tambito-Fundación Proselva, Inspección de Policía 20 de Julio, Municipio de El Tambo, Departamento de Cauca, Colombia (02° 32′ 10.9″ N, 76° 58′ 04.2″ W, 1,700 m asl)".

Distribution
Known from the type locality (Municipio de El Tambo) and Parque Nacional Natural Munchique, both on the western slope of the Cordillera Occidental, Department of Cauca, Colombia.
