Distribution

Known only from its type locality (Miazi Alto, 1260 m elevation) in the Cordillera del Cóndor, Zamora Chinchipe Province, Ecuador.

Comment

According to the original publication, previously confused with Nymphargus chancas, which, with the naming of Nymphargus colomai, is restricted to Peru. J. M. Guayasamin, L. A. Coloma, and A. Terán-Valdez in Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 4: 268–269, provided an account, with photographs, which summarized identification, adult morphology, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map), and conservation.
