Cochranella garciae Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1995, Lozania, 62: 14. Holotype: ICN 11752, by original designation. Type locality: "Departamento de Cauca, municipio de Inzá, Km. 64–73 carretera Popayán a Inzá, vertiente oriental Codillera Central, 2° 34′ latitud N, 76° 4′ W de Greenwich, 2590–2660 m", Colombia.

Common Names

García's Glassfrog (Guayasamin, Cisneros-Heredia, McDiarmid, Peña, and Hutter, 2020, Diversity, 12 (222): 164). 

Distribution

Eastern slope of the Cordillera Central in Colombia in the departments of Cauca, Huila, and Tolima, 1900–2700 m elevation, and 2550–3012 m elevation in the Cordillera Oriental in central and northern Ecuador.

In the Cochranella ocellata group, most similar to Cochranella megacheira, according to the original publication. World: 213. Guayasamin, Cisneros-Heredia, McDiarmid, Peña, and Hutter, 2020, Diversity, 12 (222): 164–166, provided a detailed account, primarily focused on the Ecuador segment of the range, including adult morphology, relationships, natural history, and conservation status.
