Nymphargus laurae Cisneros-Heredia and McDiarmid, 2007, Zootaxa, 1572: 37. Holotype: USNM 288453, by original designation. Type locality: "'Loreto, Upper Rio Napo' (= Loreto region, near the town of Loreto) (ca. 77º 20′ S, 00º 40′W, ca. 500 m elevation), lower slopes of the Sumaco Volcano, on the Cordillera Oriental, eastern slopes of the Andes, Provincia de Orellana, República del Ecuador".

Common Names

Laura's Glassfrog (Guayasamin, Cisneros-Heredia, McDiarmid, Peña, and Hutter, 2020, Diversity, 12 (222): 181). 

Distribution

Known in Ecuador from the type locality (near the town of Loreto, on the eastern slopes of the Cordillera Oriental, Province of Orellana, 500 m elevation) and from the Colonso-Chalupas Biological Reserve, eastern slopes of the Cordillera Oriental, Province of Napo.

Guayasamin, Cisneros-Heredia, McDiarmid, Peña, and Hutter, 2020, Diversity, 12 (222): 182–183, provided a detailed account, including adult morphology, relationships, natural history, and conservation status, as well as comments on the possible status of the species. Sánchez-Carvajal, Reyes-Ortega, Cisneros-Heredia, and Ortega-Andrade, 2021, PeerJ, 9 (e12644): 1–17, reported a locality from Napo, Ecuador, and discussed habitat requirements as well as morphology and molecular markers.
