Distribution

Known only from Munnar and Mattupetti, Kerala, and Valparai, Tamil Nadu, India. See comment.

In the "southern clade", unassigned to species group, of Van Bocxlaer, Biju, Willaert, Giri, Shouche, and Bossuyt, 2012, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 62: 839-847. A very brief characterization, photograph, and dot map provided by Subramanian, Dinesh, and Radhakrishnan, 2013, Atlas of Endemic Amph. W. Ghats: 98. Raj, Vasudevan, Aggarwal, Dutta, Sahoo, Mahapatra, Sharma, Janani, Kar, and Dubois, 2023, Alytes, 39–40: 71–75, reported on larval morphology of Nyctibatrachus cf. poocha from Kotayam, India.
