Comment

See accounts by Boulenger, 1920, Rec. Indian Mus., 20: 158; Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 328–331. See comment under Hylarana nigrotympanica. Song, Jang, Zou, and Shi, 2002, Herpetol. Sinica, 9: 69–79, reported this species for Hainan I., China, but this is likely a misidentification, probably based on Hylarana nigrotympanica. Identifications outside of Palawan, Philippines, are suspect.
