Distribution

Northeastern India, extreme northern Myanmar (Kachin), northern Thailand and western Yunnan, China, as well as northern Laos and northern Vietnam; records from Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and India may require genetic verification (see comment).

In the Rana (Odorrana) andersonii group of Dubois, 1992, Bull. Mens. Soc. Linn. Lyon, 61: 329. Discussed by Boulenger, 1920, Rec. Indian Mus., 20: 174; Pope, 1931, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 61: 550–553; Liu, 1950, Fieldiana, Zool. Mem., 2: 297–303; Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 354–357; Liu and Hu, 1961, Tailless Amph. China: 206–208; Yang, 1991, Amph. Fauna of Yunnan: 116–118, and Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 194. Smith, 1940, Rec. Indian Mus., 42: 465–486, reported the species from extreme northern Myanmar (Pangnamdim), near the Arunachal Pradesh, northeastern India, and Yunnan, China, borders and this has seemingly not subsequently addressed. Nabhitabhata, 1989, in Wongsiri and Laolohakarn (eds.), Biodiversity in Thailand: 169–204, reported the species in northern Thailand and this seemingly not subsequently addressed. Li, Ye, and Fei, 2001, Acta Zootaxon. Sinica, 26: 234–238, suggested on the basis of morphometric data that there are three species under this one binominal (in China): (1) the Longling population that bears the name; (2) a species on Hainan Island (now Odorrana hainaneisis); and (3) Jingdong population (now Odorrana jingdonensis). Distr.: 365, provided an account, photographs, and a range map for China that implies that records outside of Yunnan, China, and adjacent Myanmar may apply to another species in this group (DRF), although it is unclear whether populations outside of China were addressed by these authors. Makchai, Chuaynkern, Safoowong, Chuachat, and Cota, 2020, Amph.
