17 May 2025. Made an enormous number of additions and modification to records of Ecuadorian species of the families Craugastoridae, Pipidae, Telmatobiidae, Microhylidae, Dendrobatidae, Aromobatidae, Ranidae, Bufonidae, and Hylidae, extending from Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 2, Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 3 and Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 4 (Phyllomedusidae, Leptodactylidae, Ceratophryidae, Hemiphractidae, Eleutherodactylidae, Centrolenidae, Gymnophiona, and Caudata). One persistent problem throughout is that some of the accounts look to have been substantially completed in 2020 and many elevation ranges are given for distributions that appear to exclude the original elevation of the type locality, without comment. And it is frequently unclear whether the elevation ranges given are for the entire range or just for Ecuador. I've tried to resolve as best I can but future workers will have to resolve these. Having touched on this relatively minor issue, the volumes are an amazing source of information on all things amphibian for Ecuador and Coloma and Duellman (unfortunately deceased) have much to be proud of.

I still have not completely digested this paper, which is easily the most interesting one I've read in a long time, touching on old introductions, conflicts between nu- and mt-DNA, and the difficulty of applying old and obscure taxonomic names.
